The 2027 Southeast Overland Camping Event (SOC 2027) is TNToverlander’s 7th annual family-friendly overlanding and camping gathering, held March 18–21, 2027 at the Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee — the event’s fifth consecutive year at Brushy. The goal is on-site training to expand your overlanding and off-road knowledge, meeting people around the Southeast to adventure with through the year, and shopping with vendors who serve the overlanding community.

Driver and passenger tickets include camping for the entire event, admission to the vendor area during vendor hours, all training classes, and everything hosted on-site (live music, two event raffles on Friday and Saturday nights, activities). Children 9 and under are free. Add-ons: a Premium Camping Pass ($60) for front-row reserved camping with early arrival, and a trailer fee ($20; maximum trailer size 20′). SOC swag bags return in limited numbers. Tickets were not yet on sale as of October 2026; all participants sign a waiver before the event.

Camping is primitive (no powered sites, average site 20′ x 20′) for vehicles, trailers, rooftop tents and ground tents, with fresh water and restrooms on-site; quiet hours are 10 PM–8 AM and generators may run 8 AM–10 PM. Larger RVs can book Brushy Mountain’s new RV park directly and add an event wristband ($60 driver / $20 passenger). On-site extras include self-guided prison tours, the Warden’s Table restaurant and Brushy Mountain Distillery tastings, Parolee’s Pizza, the gift shop, and trail-riding passes for Windrock Park and TWRA trails.
